Outstanding Saraviahanons to be honored

Twelve “Outstanding Saraviahanons” will be honored tomorrow by the municipal government of EB Magalona, in recognition of their contribution to the development of the town.
They are Abang-Lingkod Rep. Stephen Paduano, Bacolod City Division Schools Superintendent Cynthia Demavivas, lawyer Rafael Librando, Visayan DAILY STAR senior reporter Gilbert Bayoran, Commodore Rafael Bolivar (ret), Brig. Gen. Renato Yongque (ret), Emmanuel Diploma, Teofilo Escala, Engr. Nelson Franco, Perla Sodusta, Lora Biñas, and Aquilino Araza.

The awarding rites, which form part of the week-long star-studded town fiesta that starts today, will be held at the public plaza of EB Magalona.

Mayor Marvin Malacon yesterday said that the 28th Ugyonan Festival 2017, on the theme #Tatak EB Mag: Padayun sa pag Uswag, will have nightly entertainers, including Yeng Constantino, Joshua Garcia, Me and Lassy, among other surprised guests from Manila, courtesy of Rep. Alfredo Benitez, aside from the local talents.

Other activities lined up for the festivity include the search for Lin-ay sang Ugyonan and EB Mag Got Talent, DepEd Night, Cong Albee Day and Night, pop dance contest, survivor acrobatic entertainment, skateboard competition, gaylimpics, zumba and tanod dance contests, legislative night, and Coca-Cola day, among others.

It will open today with a grand parade, band exhibition, and opening of agro-aqua festival village, and will end on May 1 with a street dancing and fireworks display.
